They offered a development environment to create 3D real-time applications and related services, targeted at system integrators, game studios and corporate end-users. In 2005, they were acquired by Dassault Systèmes. Since 2006, the software is called 3DVIA Virtools as part of Dassault Systèmes’ 3DVIA brand. The development platform is used in the industry for virtual reality applications,[1] video game market (prototyping and rapid development), as well as for other highly interactive 3D experiences, in web marketing, virtual product maintenance.
